My dad sent me this link, where photographer Ed Ou documented the situation in Libya earlier this week. The notes are through instant messaging, which is exactly how the Times describes ‘through instant messaging that gave his words the feeling of poetry.’ I love the Lens blog for being able to read what these photojournalists are seeing everyday.
“we left cairo in a car early today
we drove north and took the road west along the coast
to a town called sallum
the egyptian military let us cross without a problem, though it took a few hours
we passed by a lot of people who were fleeing to egypt
it was a bit surreal, everyone was trying to leave and on the other side of the wall, it was just us trying to get into libya
there were a few other journalists going”
More of Ed Ou’s work, here.
