Katherine Wolkoff

I am a little bit in love with the work of New Orleans-based Katherine Wolkoff. Her images are so lush* and beautiful, while I look through them I imagine a girl wandering around with a camera, finding deer beds and twisted roots and making these gorgeous photos spontaneously.. even if they are planned out.

*I have a love/hate relationship with words.. lush being one of the hated words, along with delicious, which I am slowly warming up to, and the all-time hated biscuit. When the movie Sea Biscuit was out I was in a constant state of nausea. I would hide at the sight of Tobey Maquire and cover my eyes against their bolded biscuit posters. Anyway, I use this word because it makes sense in describing Katherine Wolkoff’s work, and that must mean that it’s true love coming from me.
